Oak Shores Capital was founded in 2016 to provide investment management solutions and consulting services for various different types of investors primarily investing in public equity markets.

We utilize a bottom-up fundamental approach to investing in securities. We primarily invest in strong, durable businesses that are trading below our best estimate of intrinsic value. Risk management is at the core of our investment philosophy and we have a very strict risk management system in order to protect invested capital from severe business market cycles

The fund's approach is to be a long-term investor in a concentrated portfolio of companies. We look for:

high quality businesses that can sustain a high return on operating capital employed;businesses whose advantages are difficult to replicate;businesses that do not require significant leverage to generate returns;Businesses with a high degree of certainty of growth from reinvestment of their cash flows at high rates of returnBusinesses that are resilient to change, particularly technological innovation;and businesses whose valuation is considered by the Company to be attractive.

Oak Shores Capital was founded by Justin Sherfield. Justin has extensive experience analyzing and investing in public equities, becoming instantly hooked after reading Warren Buffet's partnership letters at the age of 18. Prior to founding Oak Shores Capital, Justin served as Vice President at West Coast Group, a leading full-service real estate company in California. Justin has also started three companies in the real estate, digital marketing, and e-commerce industries. Previously Justin served as an analyst and derivatives trader at a proprietary trading firm in Southern California. Justin studied asset and portfolio management at The University of Pennsylvania's Wharton Business School. Justin also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from California State University, Channel Islands.
